Field note / Premise
A self-initiated identity and digital programme for an imagined night in inner Johannesburg. The rooms sit in Newtown, Fordsburg, Braamfontein, the CBD, Selby and Maboneng. The city is the stage.
System
Scroll the night. Rooms come into focus as they reach the middle of the page. Click to keep a trace on the personal poster.
HTML-first editorial system. Type, colour and state do the spatial work. No borrowed 3D world.
Grammar
The inner city is the interface. Scroll the night; rooms light up where they actually sit.
The city is the poster.
Names and times sit at the edge of legibility until the pointer brings a room into range.
Time runs left to right.
Sets occupy a night, not a list. Districts stay attached to rooms so the map is cultural, not cartographic.
